LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Landon Wilburn, 11, has a future as a cop — a traffic cop. The youngster, who used to shout at speeders to slow down as they drove through the Stone Lakes subdivision in Louisville, now has taken matters into his own hands.

Dressed in a reflective vest, wearing a bicycle helmet and armed with an orange Hot Wheels brand radar gun, he points and records the actual speed of passing traffic.

Landon also carries a flashlight with a built-in siren.

"When I saw it happening, I got the biggest kick out of it," said resident George Ayers, 61. "People were locking up their brakes when they saw him."

Many in the subdivision are frustrated that motorists tear through the neighborhood at 55 mph despite signs posting a 25 mph limit.

Officials said the city will install speed humps in the neighborhood if 70 percent of residents agree and are willing to put up half the money.

Aside from pronouncing aspartame as "ass-part-ah-me", it's a well done documentary.

i got adjusted for the first time since november yesterday...

oh.

gods.

i still have a lot of work to do on my own - i don't work out, don't stretch, don't drink enough water, ie: none of the things i should to to keep a happy and healthy spine and body...

however.  i now have range of motion and feel about 15 pounds lighter.

hee hee hee.  i *heart* chiropractic...

now i just need the boy to graduate so he can do this for me.

Cookie Monster:  Child’s First Addict

two fridays ago (the 9th), i was at a networking meeting that served lunch, and all of a sudden i was having trouble eating my soup. it was like i'd been given novicane, except i wasn't numb. i could feel everything, but couldn't really use my mouth. over the next 48 hours it progressed to the point where all of the muscles on the right side of my face didn't work. at all. it is a truly interesting sight to behold. 

enter Bell's Palsy.  it is shocking to me that something I had never even heard of is as common as this is.  almost everyone I've talked to has at least heard of it.  if not known a close friend or loved one that had it, or had it themselves.  it is self-limiting, meaning it will just go away on its own.  the best case scenario is in as little as two weeks... it can go as long as two to six months.  they have no idea what causes it.  it can be stress, or sleeping on your neck wrong, or a viral infection, or lyme disease - which they did test me for and i do not have.  they put me on prednisone (yay steroids) which i did take, and wrote me a script for an antiviral medication which i did not.  a) it was $240+ to fill it, b) it would only do anything if the cause of the Bell's was a viral infection, and they can't tell me that, and c) even if it did help, it would help just about the same amount as the prednisone. 

it is EXHAUSTING.  it is ANNOYING... and starting sunday and yesterday, it feels like i've been kicked repeatedly in the head with something big and clunky and steel-toed.  the bones in my face and head literally feel broken and bruised, even though they are neither.

i've seen the chiropractor and acupuncturist.  i may try to head to a massage therapist next.

but first, after being up for all of an hour, i'm going to try to take a nap.

So I'll wear a rainbow on my shirt, but then under it, I gotta put "Not Gay".

But I'm not against gay people, so under that, I gotta put "But Supportive".

I just think it's weird that one group took refracted light.

i was selene from underworld last year... got lots more compliments on the eyes with street clothes this year because it was so unbelievably unexpected.  the boys at the restaurant thought it was the greatest thing ever.

so we're watching tv tonight... my dad, mom & i... normally my father is a CONSUMMATE channel flipper, and gets to choose whatever HE wants when we're all around at the same time. most of the time, i'm at least somewhat interested so it's not the end of the world, but...

tonight, of his own volition, he put on dirty dancing. and left it on. not one channel flip.

nice.

and oh yeah. i REALLY miss dancing. it's been soooooo long.

i think the boy was the first one to introduce me to postsecret... now i read it every week... and there is never a week that goes by that i don't bawl my eyes out.
